HAWORTH HOME ADDITION

Project Overview

Located in Haworth, NJ , this residence was expanded by 800 square feet across two levels to optimize its footprint and functionality. By relocating the kitchen to the new first-floor addition, a wide-open dining and entertaining space was established, spilling out onto a 200-square-foot cedar deck. Upstairs, the project addressed modern family needs by enlarging the existing bathroom, adding a new bedroom and a multipurpose nursery/playroom, significantly increasing both the home's square footage and its daily livability. 

Site Permeability & Zoning

The project faced local zoning regulations regarding lot permeability. To secure approval, detailed site studies were conducted to demonstrate that the new addition and deck would not exceed allowable lot coverage or negatively impact site drainage.
